Sites for Images & Visual Effects

Here are some useful links for non-copyrighted images and for other visual-effect websites that you can use to “liven up” a presentation or a poster …

  • Click here to link to Creative Commons, where you can search for images that are free to use without needing permission.  Just click on the tab for the search engine that you want to use at the top of the page.
  • Ever hear of “word clouds”?  Click here to create a “Wordle,” where the words you type in are arranged in an unusual display … the more times a certain word shows up, the larger the word is in the display.  Make an eye-catching poster!!
  • For a totally new type of slideshow … sign into and try playing around with Prezi.com.  Run the tutorial and see what you can create!
  • If you’d like to create a cool short video display of animated images set to music, try Animoto.
  • Glogster – you can use this to create online posters, reports, and more
